Creative Writing/Poetry/Spoken Word and Performance Workshop
With Dai Woolridge
Holst Suite A
Explore creative writing and spoken word performance with award winning spoken word poet Dai Woolridge. Dai passionately believes poetry is for all people to enjoy, if it’s on a page or spoken aloud at an open mic event. Dai’s passion is to showcase poetry in a fun, fresh and down to earth way, whilst not compromising on passion or depth. In the workshop we’ll explore different creative devices when penning a poem and techniques that help bring a spoken word poem to life in performance. This workshop is a safe space for all levels of experience.
An award-winning spoken word poet from South Wales, Dai blends rhythm and rhyme with passion, playfulness and colloquial prose. He has written and performed for Sky Sports, Welsh Rugby Union, BBC Radio 2 and was shortlisted for the Outspoken performance poetry awards 2022. Author of children’s book ‘God’s brilliantly big creation story’, creative specialist at Bible Society and Director of ‘Sound of Wales’ with his wife, Cath.
