Black, Blessed and British is a show which comprises of the reading and performance of Poems & Praise Songs from the new poetic memoir – Black, Blessed and British by Claudette Athea Douglas.
The performance is woven together by uplifting observations and pieces from the book.
The show transports the audience on a rich lyrical journey which reflects on the author’s life growing up as a black child in 1960’s Cheltenham, the family relocating to Jamaica and her subsequent return to the UK establishing herself as a performer and spiritual activist in London.
